Near my work place in a sub-neighbourhood of Shinjuku.
My small camera has been cranking up... I dunno if it works properly anymore...
Anyway, it's the weekend of my first week here~
Nothing special this weekend... I just went down to Shibuya today with my French housemate Samuel to check out Tokyu Hands with is a big department store... well, I wanted to get a water filter but the cheapest one is like 3600 yen and the price of the filter refills are about that as well, so adding everything up it is cheaper to just buy two-litre bottled mineral water(about 200 yen each) from Daimaru every week.
Daimaru Peacock is the supermarket near the place I stay... it's ok, but not amazing... actually, I think it's pretty small for a supermarket. It's the best option near my place though. I can't even find packet tissue... so that's a gauge. There is no decent 100-yen store near my place. There are two convenience stores - one is am/pm and the other one reads something like 'slave' in kana haha I have no idea what the name actually is.
To give an idea of how small the house is, the picture below shows the kitchen/dining/living/entrance/etc space, and right beside the stove you see a set of sliding doors - that's my room. Sharing with a room mate. The walls are so thin that everyone can hear everything going on everywhere, so there's not much privacy. The bathroom is really compact as well - the sink area is also the shower area, as in when you shower you actually stand right next to the sink and the shower head is above the sink. I've never seen anything like this.
My housemates are hitting Ginza tonight... but I was too tired. Well, there'll be other chances I guess.
I've decided to head down to Ueno tomorrow~ to see a Children Literature Library by Ando, and another museum by Corbu.
