My prophesy did not come true
Well, it's been less than a week, but I've already gone through all the motions
of being infatuated with Blankey Jet City like I thought I would
and comparing Chiba Yusuke to Kenichi Asai
and i realised
yes, Revelations, as usual
I realised
that they are different
and even though it always looks a little like Chiba is looking towards Benzie (Kenichi Asai)
As in it always looks like Chiba looks in the direction of Benzie
a little... like glances
like sideway glances
Musically, and otherwise
As in I expected... and was therefore afraid... I expected to listen to Blankey Jet City and locate the source of everything I found appealing about Chiba's music
But they are different
and when I listened to Chiba's songs... like the ones he wrote for Rosso...
Especially
ESPECIALLY
The "Emissions" mini album. Rosso's last record... Especially,
especially,
the last song called 発光...
There is no way Benzie will write a song like that
It is different
What I mean is
Benzie writes awesome songs that stirs up things
and I love his songs
but Chiba is different
If....... IF, Benzie was Neal Cassady, Chiba would be Jack Kerouac.
Maybe not EXACTLY, but something close... (Or maybe not even close. I mean for this comparison to work from the viewpoint of Chiba.)
There's this university-bred intellectual haunting in Chiba
"university-bred intellectual type" as you understand here would be me meaning a type of person not necessarily university-bred (as far as I'm concerned I have no special regards for people who graduated from universities, normally, unless they happen to be intelligent as well. I can go on with this... people usually think they are smart if they happen to be doing a course in a uni, but that's just circumstances, don't you think so. There are many people smarter who just don't have the circumstances. And there are many people with circumstances that don't have the slightest brilliance in anything)
To carry on - Chiba is just so fucking intelligent
It didn't hit me so strong before, but Chiba is just so fucking intellectual
"intellectual"
What I mean is... I just totally dig intellectuals. I.e. people who can write poetry without sounding like thirteen-year-olds (among other "intellectual traits" one of which is to grunt immediately at the sound of the word "intellectuals" and disclaim any connection to it)
While Benzie just - Goes...
He goes... like a whirlwind sweeping everything up
like the spirit of Punk
like the spirit of I-dont-care-ness
I.e.
When Chiba sings "Sweet Jimi": At that time a tornado blew - it was so beautiful
But one wonders ("one wonders") if Chiba is aware
of his own special radiation
Not a tornado...
an Emission....
